TEAM SPOTLIGHT: STEPHEN WRENTMORE, CHAIR OF THE ADVISORY BOARD
STEPHEN teaches at Wake Forest University, in North Carolina, USA. He has a background as a stage director of theatre, opera, and musicals, producer, writer, and change consultant. He co-founded Inspiration Point Productions, TryThis Consulting, and is a Homerton ChangeMaker.
As an artistic leader, Stephen has served as Artistic Producer at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, Associate Artistic Director of Arizona Theatre Company, Artistic Director of the Byre Theatre in St Andrews, Arts Council Resident Director at The Crucible Theatre, in Sheffield, and Producer for the Department of Theatre & Dance, University of Kentucky. He has worked at The National Theatre in London, Tate Galleries, Meyerhold, BAM, The Wrestling School, and Elisnor Castle. As an international director, he has created productions worldwide, from Siberia to San Francisco, most recently directing his new adaptation of Moliere’s Scapin at Pioneer Theatre, Salt Lake City. His direction of the EMMY nominated Opera Gala, Stars of Tomorrow, is available on PBS.
Stephen studied at the University of Cambridge and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He holds an MFA from Oklahoma City University, was a visiting academic at the University of Oxford in 2009, and is a Fellow of the Clore Leadership Programme. He is is a proud member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers.
